What Makes This Commentary Special? Endnotes present additional material from Likutei Halachos. What Makes This Translation Special? Breslov Research Institute is publishing a multi-volume translation of Likutey Moharan, which presents the original Hebrew text, an English translation and extensive footnotes. For some people, this is an ideal presentation, and Likutei Moharan Explained is not attempting to take its place--which it could not do, at any rate.

Likutei Moharan Explained is meant for the person who does best learning a translation with the commentary integrated into the text. However, to do so will require funding. As you look at the teaching, we ask you to consider making a generous donation to make this magnificent project possible.

Rabbi Dovid Sears answers: My answer really is different than all three options in that it is more focused on the lesson in Likutey Moharan you are learning rather than any other factor, such as your perceived need to improve in one area or another. Just learn what you can. One of the things I am finally starting to realize is that I need not spend so much time planning how I am going to learn or how to approach it, rather, I just need to jump in and connect myself to the words and not try to feel rushed to complete a certain amount of learning by a given arbitrary due date.

How to Learn Likutey Halachos?

Does a person need to be convinced to go into Gan Eden? Anybody who could would just roll up his sleeves and push himself in. If we see that our overall Torah study is not so strong, all the more so do the difficulties becomes more intense in relation to setting aside time to learn the holy Likutei Halachos. There is a war at stake over here, the battle over our very souls. Our heavenly antagonists are not as concerned with our health and livelihood as much as not letting us bring into our minds and hearts the teachings of Reb Noson, through which we can already taste Gan Eden in our lifetime. Of course, each of us has certainly seen pieces here and there in Likutei Halachos which seemed simpler to understand, which we found inspiring. But this is not always what we find.
